London was my first solo travel. I went during a rather sombre time. The US elections had come to an end, and I needed to get away from the politics filling the country. Of course, some would argue that the UK was not doing any better, post Brexit decision. However, I needed a change of scenery, and London had long been on the list of places I wanted to visit. Regardless of the cold and gray skies, I fell for London's charm. When it came to leave, I cried.
I really want to go back to London soon, and see if I'd still feel the same way about the city, or if the short stint and my state of mind was what made the entire city more special. There are certainly neighborhoods in London I still didn't get to explore. Much like my own city of Chicago, I'm sure exploring London would take an entire lifetime.
